Abstract
The article considers the changes occurring to music today in connection with development
of the media technologies. Despite the increased popularity of music, it is more often used
practically: as a background, support of any activity, but all is more rare for esthetic pleasure.
The author comes to a conclusion about global changes in the sphere of perception of music
and occurrence of the new functions of it demanding the further studying.
