Separatism and theproblems of the unity safe-guardingand the state territorial integrityon the continent of Africa

The nature of separatism problems on african continent is ruled by three factors: arbitrary frontiers determination by countries-metropolises, struggle between transnational corporations and developed states for natural resources and intertribal discord.
In Africa the idea of self-determination of nations is dominating, it was expressed, first of all, in continent decolonization after World War II. Only later, in 1970s-1980s the african states leaders have taken to asserting the territorial integrity of the states. In practice of realization of self-determination right and territorial integrity defense pressure tactics of fight with separatists are prevailing. But this approach has led only to numerous victims and to deepening of contradictions between central authorities and separatists territories, that shows its uneffectiveness.
