Abstract

Aimis to studytheamount of phenoliccompoundsincinnamonrosehipfruitsaspart of optimizingapproachesto the quantitativeanalysis of raw materials andpreparationsbasedonit.

Materials and methods. We were studied the fruits of the cinnamon rosehip (Rosa cinnamomea L. fam. Rosaceae) harvested in the Samara region and the Republic of Mari El, as well as industrial samples of «Sirupus fructis Rosae» and «Cholosas» preparations, solutions of standard samples of gallic acid, ascorbic acid and catechin. Direct spectrophotometry at

282wasusedas research methodstostudy the amount of flavonoidsintermsofcatechinnm anddifferentialspectrophotometryat 412nm intermsofrutin.

Results. An analysis of the nature of absorption curves during direct spectrophotometry for extraction from cinnamon rosehip fruits and preparations based on them showed the presence of a pronounced maximum at 276±2 nm, which is characteristic of the content of high levels of catechin derivatives and gallic acid. The amount of reduced flavonoids in terms of catechin in fresh cinnamon rosehip fruits and as preparations of «Sirupus fructis Rosae»and «Сholosas» basedonthemsignificantlyexceedstheamount of oxidizedflavonoidsintermsofrutin.

Conclusions. It seems most appropriate to conduct a quantitative analysis of cinnamon rosehip fruits, as well as preparations of «Sirupus fructis Rosae»and «Сholosas» based onthem, basedontheamount of flavonoidsintermsofcatechinbydirectspectrophotometryat282nm.
