Abstract

This article deals with the accessibility of higher education in objective and subjective indices. Complex approach to the statistics analysis, the results of the sociological survey of students and their parents allowed to differentiate various kinds of accessibility and to range the factors of institutional, economic and sociodemographic origin.
The author applies the data on higher education accessibility n several regions of the country: Ulyanovsk, Sverdlovsk and Kemerov regions, Primorsky Krai and the Republic of Tatarstan. This raises the investigation to a crossregional level and makes the conclusions significant for the development of sociology of education.
